In 2001, the City council of Henderson created the Neighborhood Services Division. This group was designed to assist in the facilitation of the many complicated issues stemming from the rapid growth of Henderson. Neighborhood Services today has expanded and is an integral part of the city's infrastructure. The committee strives to maintain positive neighborhood relations in every region of the city, provide helpful and useful information to residents, encourage public participation on every level, provide affordable, reliable as well as stable housing for families in need, preserve and protect neighborhoods, and manage resources to serve the community. From helping new residents locate hard to find organic baby shampoo to organizing huge festivals and events, the NSD in Henderson is always active, and accomplishes many things each year.

One of the many great neighborhood improvement initiatives in Henderson is the amazing neighborhood cleanup program. How does this program work? Residents simply must complete the dumpster request form (which can be quite easily found online or at city hall). Shortly thereafter, someone from the Neighborhood Services department will contact you to confirm your request and arrange to pickup time and location for the dumpster to be delivered. The dumpster will be delivered on Friday to be picked up the following Monday, which gives you and your neighbors an entire weekend to clear out the old tires, used Motorola leather cases and any other rubble that is cluttering and dirtying up the community.
